Construction and demolition waste is one of the heaviest waste streams generated in the EU. It accounts for approximately 30% of all waste generated in the EU and consists of numerous materials, such as concrete, bricks, gypsum, wood, glass, metals and plastic and others. It takes up immeasurable space in landfills, and reduces soil quality even when properly disposed.

I developed a new sustainable material made from waste generated during construction and demolition. The waste is first shredded and mixed with bio-resin and then molded into the base and handle. The top of the lamp is made from sandblasted glass. Inspired by hand-held lamps found on construction sites, the light can either be hanged or just lay wherever it’s needed.
